- With a driver, the time between meetings becomes working time: emails, calls and preparation instead of traffic and parking.
- Wi-Fi is included in every Transfero price, along with still water — the car is ready to work from the moment you get in.
- A private cabin means private conversations: no neighbouring seat on a train or a plane, no shared ride.
- S-Class for one executive (transfer €65, €65/hr, €500/day); V-Class with facing seats and a table for a small team (transfer €50, €50/hr, €400/day).
Short answer: when someone else drives, the car stops being dead time between appointments and becomes a quiet, private office. You take calls, finish the deck, read the contract once more — and arrive at the next meeting prepared rather than flustered by traffic and parking.
A typical business day in Tallinn or Riga is not one long meeting. It is a flight, a hotel, a client in one district, lunch in another, a site visit outside the city and a dinner in the Old Town. Each leg is short, but together they easily add up to two or three hours. The question is simply who uses those hours — you, or the traffic.
This article is about the individual traveller: an executive, a founder, a consultant or a pair of colleagues on a tight schedule. If you are planning a trip for a whole team, read Business trip on wheels, which covers meetings on the road for groups.
What makes a car a real mobile office
- Connectivity. Wi-Fi is included in every Transfero booking, so your laptop is online the moment you sit down. Download key files for offline use anyway — it is a good habit on any rural stretch.
- Privacy. A private cabin is not a train carriage or a departure lounge. A sensitive call or a frank conversation with a colleague stays between you.
- Calm. No navigation, no parking, no looking for the entrance. The driver handles the logistics; you keep your attention on the work.
- Reliability. A licensed, professional driver who knows the city, a confirmed booking and a pick-up time you can plan around.
- The basics. Still water on board, space for a laptop bag and a suit carrier, and a temperature you choose.
Which car for which kind of work?
| Vehicle | Passengers | Transfer | Hourly | Full day | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mercedes-Benz S-Class | Up to 4 | €65 | €65/hr | €500 | One executive, VIP guests, calls and focused work |
| Mercedes-Benz V-Class | Up to 6 | €50 | €50/hr | €400 | Two to four colleagues working together |
Prices are per vehicle. A "transfer" is a ride from A to B lasting up to one hour. See the full price list for other vehicles and intercity routes.
S-Class: a private office for one
The S-Class is the classic executive car for a reason: a quiet rear seat, room to open a laptop and an atmosphere that suits a phone call with the board as much as a short rest before a negotiation. It is also the natural choice when you are collecting an important guest from the airport — the impression starts at arrivals.
V-Class: a small meeting room
In the V-Class the rear seats can face each other, with a table between them. For two to four people that turns a 40-minute ride into a proper working session: one last run-through before the client, a debrief after it, or a quick decision while everyone is in the same place.
A business day with a driver: how it works
- Arrival. Your driver meets you at the airport with a name sign. Flights are monitored, and if yours is delayed, the first hour of waiting is free.
- Into the city. Tallinn Airport is only about 4 km from the centre, so the first leg is short — enough to check messages and confirm the day's plan.
- Between meetings. With hourly or full-day hire, the car stays with you. The driver waits outside, your bag and documents stay in the car, and you step out at each door.
- Out of town. A site visit in Tartu or a meeting in Riga? The road time becomes desk time. Tallinn–Tartu is about 2 h 20 min, Tallinn–Riga about 4–4.5 hours.
- Evening. Dinner with the client, and a ride back to the hotel without looking for a taxi.
Hourly or full day?
For a single meeting across town, a transfer is enough. If your day has three or more stops, hourly hire is simpler: the driver waits and you never need to book the next ride. Once a day reaches seven or eight hours, the full-day rate (€500 for the S-Class, €400 for the V-Class) is usually the better value. Tell us the schedule and we will suggest the option that makes sense — the price is confirmed in advance, within 30 minutes.
Tips for working on the road
- Send the schedule in advance — addresses, times and who is joining. The driver plans the route, not you.
- Plan calls for the longer legs. Short city rides are better for emails and reading.
- Keep a phone hotspot as backup. Under EU "roam like at home" rules, most EU mobile plans work in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania at domestic rates.
- Leave a buffer before key meetings. Ten quiet minutes in the car before you walk in are worth more than arriving exactly on the minute.
